As a designer, I am attracted to clothing has something “off” about it, whether it is a unique take on shape, material, or graphic print, much like that of a “disheveled American.” I express my creative individuality through quirky subtleties that create intrigue without distracting from craftsmanship and tailoring. I hope to move forward from tradition by taking influence from it, allowing myself to be both inspired by the past and mindful of the future. I believe that originality is achieved through experimentation, which is why my skills in textile art have allowed me to make my laidback aesthetic my own. I strive to push the boundaries of expectation in my work by exploring multidimensional concepts that encourage thought and self-discovery. The challenge of translating these ideas into functional, effortlessly cool pieces is what fuels my passion as a designer.
